Digitizing Urdu: Analysis of Documents, Social Networks in Pakistan's National Language
Janya has developed the first software system that will allow for computational processing of documents in Urdu, in collaboration with the University at Buffalo.
Janya has developed multilingual capabilities for the analysis of text in Urdu, Pakistan's national language, which is spoken by about one-fifth of the world's population.
Janya's work in collaboration with the University at Buffalo draws on innovative techniques for within-language sentiment detection, rapid resource (annotated corpora) development for resource-poor languages or domains, and more, to provide powerful capabilities for search, triage, and analysis.
The University at Buffalo is an academic partner of Janya.
