Leadership

Jeffrey Leavoy is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of financial management experience gained across a wide variety of business sectors including the manufacturing, health care, government contracting, and banking industries.  Prior to joining Janya, Jeff served for six years as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Harper International Corporation, a thermal processing systems designer and manufacturer located in Lancaster, New York.  Prior to joining Harper, Jeff held progressive financial and management positions at  companies including Univera Healthcare, a health maintenance organization where he was the Senior Director, Treasury, and created and managed a new Treasury function, Sierra Technologies, a government contractor where as a Finance Director he was responsible for financial, treasury, program administration, and pricing activities, and HSBC Bank, where he served as an Assistant Vice President in the Corporate Accounting group and analyzed proposed business ventures and other banking activities.  Jeff is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

David Schubmehl, Vice President of Product Strategy

David Schubmehl has over 25 years of experience working in the fields of search, information access and content analytics delivering products and services. Prior to Janya, he was the North American Account Manager for Fairview Research LLC, a consulting organization specializing in intellectual property and content analysis solutions.  He also served as the Vice-President and General Manager of the enterprise search business unit at Open Text Corporation. He has extensive experience in the development, marketing and sales of information access and search software as well as content and document management systems.  Prior to Open Text, Mr. Schubmehl was the Director of Development and Support for BRS Software Products and started his professional life as a software developer. Mr. Schubmehl attended the University at Albany.

John Weaver, Vice President of Business Development

John Weaver has over 15 years of business development, customer service management and operational experience in a wide range of fields which include the information technology, national security, travel, and political sectors. Prior to joining Janya, he was a Vice President and founding partner of Special Needs at Sea, a travel services company supporting disabled travelers in 25 countries. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Harbinger Technologies Group, providing linguistic search tools and training for customers in the military, intelligence, and homeland security fields. Serving over 10 years in the political and Congressional environments, John acted as principal adviser to three members of Congress and staffed several political campaigns. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from North Carolina State University and completed graduate work at both the U.S. Naval War College and the U.S Air Force Command and Staff College.
